The Story
Named after the county of Gloucestershire, the Gloucestershire Old Spot pig willow sculpture showcases the essence of the British countryside. An outdoorsy breed that loves the sunshine, this willow sculpture will look great in a sunny corner of the garden.
Hand-crafted by talented artist Emma Stothard, who was able to start up her business with a loan from The Prince’s Trust, was invited by His Majesty The King to exhibit her willow sculptures on the Orchard Lawns at Highgrove.
Sculpted from British willow, interwoven with wire and bronze wire and shaped around a steel armature, the contrasting willow colours in this Gloucestershire Old Spot pig create form and definition. Each sculpture is finished with a coating of linseed oil and turpentine solution to preserve and protect it.
