Roebuck Deer Willow Sculpture

This roebuck deer, with its distinctively short antlers, will look majestic standing amongst long grass or in a wooded area of the garden. Complete the herd with the roe doe and roe fawn deer.

Hand-crafted by talented artist Emma Stothard, who was able to start up her business with a loan from The Prince’s Trust, was invited by His Majesty The King to exhibit her willow sculptures, on the Orchard Lawns at Highgrove.

Sculpted from British willow, interwoven with wire and bronze wire and shaped around a steel armature, the contrasting willow colours in this roebuck deer create form and definition. Each sculpture is finished with a coating of linseed oil and turpentine solution to preserve and protect it.
